Passion: Leadership and corporate
Expertise: Jake brings over 20 years of PR expertise across UK, European and global accounts for biotech and pharmaceutical clients. He is passionate about guiding companies through an ever-evolving macro and communications landscape, safeguarding reputations today and shaping them for tomorrow.
Recently, he supported a client in driving and deepening the debate on the true value of innovative medicines - not only for patients and HCPs, but for society as a whole.

Caroline Mak
Passion: Patient engagement and advocacy
Expertise: Caroline has over 13 years of communications experience working across multiple disease areas to strengthen client advocacy capabilities. She believes in the power of co-creation, working closely with patient advocacy groups to improve health outcomes.
Caroline leverages her Patient Information Forum training to ensure the team is equipped with the right skills to facilitate patient workshops.
Career highlight: Working with patient and carer organisations to co-create resources that help people start conversations with their loved ones about mental health.

Elizabeth Mercer
Passion: Thought leadership and ethical AI integration
Expertise: Liz has 15 years of cross-sector experience in communications. Moving from consumer into B2B, corporate and technology PR, she found her ideal niche challenging healthcare brands and organisations to both listen and lead from the front. Her view is simple: regulation should never mean a lack of imagination.
As an AI advocate, Liz co-developed and published an AI roadmap for the health comms industry in Current Medical Research and Opinion and is currently championing the integration of these new tools within the agency and client work.
Career highlight: Developing and leading a corporate communications programme to overhaul the reputation of an international public health entity.

Emma Robertson
Passion: Challenging convention on social media (and dog videos)
Expertise: Emma leads Langland’s social media and influencer team, encouraging clients to push past the status quo and draw inspiration from other industries. Her work has earned recognition for everything from social listening insights to content strategy.
Most recently, her team received two major industry awards for an influencer campaign in the infectious disease space.
Career highlight: Creating COVID-19 vaccine educational content amid rampant misinformation.

Samina Deen
Passion: Disease awareness, underserved communities, culture and diversity
Expertise: Samina brings over 25 years’ experience working in healthcare communications across the pharmaceutical, charity and NHS sectors. Her favourite work focuses on disease awareness and advocacy-led campaigns that make a tangible impact on the ground. This includes award-winning initiatives in obesity, hepatitis C, HIV, fertility, substance misuse, glaucoma, mental health and oncology. This patient focus came full circle during her time at the Royal Marsden NHS Trust, working within end-of-life care and championing the importance of digital records and urgent care planning to improve patient outcomes and healthcare system connectivity.
Career highlight: Meeting David Beckham and the England football team for Men’s Health Week in the early Noughties. Yes, he was very handsome.
